Day 1: Depart to Finland
Day 2, Welcome to Helsinki, Finland and Introduction to the Finnish education system in a nutshell
A guided transfer and short sightseeing from the airport to the Finnish National Agency for Education, Hakaniemenranta 6, Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) is a national development agency. It is responsible for developing education and training, early childhood education and care and lifelong learning, as well as for promoting internationalization.
4:30 pm check in to the hotel
6:00 pm Welcome Dinner at the cozy restaurant near by the hotel, Tim Walker, author of Teach Like Finland: 33 Simple Strategies for Joyful Classrooms, will be a dinner speaker
Day 3, Finnish learning culture in practice
9:00 am Visit the Parliament of Finland, Education and Culture Committee Mannerheimintie 30
11:00 am Lunch and talk in the vocational Culinary, Tourism and Business School Perho
2:00 pm A visit to Etu-Töölö Upper Secondary School, Arkadiankatu 26
4:00 pm Guided walking tour including the Rock Church, Music Centre and Oodi City Library
Day 4, Finnish learning culture in practise
08:00am Departure from the hotel to the Vanttila school and Vanttila day care center, Espoo
09:00am Introduction to the Finnish basic K9 schooling and day care centre, principles of basic and early learning
10:00 am Daily shores at school and in the early learning center, joining the activities with children
12:00 pm Lunch
2:00 pm Visit to the Art and Craft School Annantalo
4:00 pm Visit to Rikhardinkatu Library and its children’s department, collaboration with schools
Day 5, Finnish learning culture in practise
08:00 am Departure to Porvoo, founded 13th century
9:00 am-2:00pm Visit local schools and local school administration, including the lunch
2:30 pm A stroll around the Old Town Porvoo
4:30 pm Visit Marimekko Outlet or/ and Arabia Design Center
7:00 pm Farewell Dinner at the cozy restaurant near by the hotel
Day 6, Departure day
Trip includes:
A non-stop round trip flight from JFK
All transportation to and from school visits and other scheduled sites in Finland
Hotel Lilla Roberts including breakfast
2 dinners - Welcome Dinner and Farewell Dinner
4 lunches at host schools
Cost assuming double occupancy and availability - $3600 per person
The cost doesn’t cover:
Travel health insurance
Any activities not mentioned in the program

Payment Schedule (Alternate payment schedule may be negotiated by request of the participant)
- $400 non-refundable fee 180 days before the departure day
- $800 150 days before the departure day
- $800 120 days before the departure day
- $800 90 days before the departure day
- $800 60 days before the departure day
Note: If an upgrade to single occupancy is requested and available:
$300 to be paid 30 days before departure, for single occupancy
Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be received in writing. The following cancellation schedule applies:
50% of the paid amount refunded 90 days prior to departure.
25% of the paid amount refunded between 89 and 76 days prior to departure.
No refund within 75 days of the departure date.
